DO NOT TOUCH THE BENCHES OF ARZIGNANO: Updates and funeral for the benches

AND THE DAFNE X BETWEEN

ARZIGNANO, FUNERAL FOR BENCHES
THE CASE. Thursday morning in the Piazza Marconi protest against the removal of stone seats. The commissioner of public works rejects the criticism: "The operation will cost little, there will be other benches, are the cars'

Thursday at 9.45 in the Piazza Marconi will be the" funeral " benches. While continuing the discussion with numerous mail arrived at our newspaper, the City Council Gianfranco Miss launches initiative to protest the administration's decision to remove the seven arzignanese marble benches of Piazza Marconi. "We recite the" De Profundis "as a sign of sadness - Miss says - the administration wanted to bring a smile to Arzignano, but so has brought destruction. They must respect the people who paid those jobs, and who shared the project. "
Also over the weekend and yesterday have rained down the protests. The Facebook group "Do not touch the squares in Arzignano" after a visit to the "ruins" on Saturday morning, has reached more than 270 members in just a few days, and gathered pages and pages of comments. The email sent to the journal have continued to come hour after hour. Many are against it, and they talk about "waste of money at a time of crisis," or "arrogance and insensitivity of the administration towards the citizens." But there are those who, starting from Saturday, wrote to applaud the choice of the administration, saying favorevole all'intervento che conferisce «pulizia e senso di piazza».
Councillor minimize. The commissioner of public works Massimo Signorini rejects the criticism. "The project will cost € 3-4000 - he says - and then you must add € 3,250 of the new benches. The seats will be, given that the sessions will be replaced with marble benches of iron, even the parking spaces will remain unchanged. "
«Wednesday - says Miss - continue with the removal of four other benches. Then they will also be covered. Then arrange the seating in iron. Everything will be completed on Friday. " Are also have replaced the lights underground. "And nobody has noticed - Miss concludes - we have twenty removed and replaced with marble."

DO NOT TOUCH THE BENCHES OF ARZIGNANO: Benches, peep committees Defence (from Journal of Vicenza, January 24, 2010)

AND THE DAFNE X BETWEEN

THE CASE. Sale protest at the decision of the City to eliminate the marble seats
Benches, springing to the defense committees

Contro ma anche pro i martelli pneumatici in piazza, che nei giorni scorsi hanno già eliminato 3 delle 7 panchine, gli arzignanesi si dividono between those who speak of an avoidable waste of public money and who approves the new structure of the square. "It's a shame - Angela blurts Tail - wasting public money to remove the benches that have not even a year." "It's a mess - Floriano presses Fields -. To say that the maneuvers are dangerous for cars is preposterous. "
PRO Bench. "It's disgusting - Mirka says Pellizzari passing through the square - before we could stop and sit and chat. Now the center back at the mercy of the car. " "Every project can be improved, too, but we could discuss in a constructive spirit. Destroy it just seems a sign of willingness to do mischief to the previous administration "says Damiano Steccanella. While Giovanni Fazio reminds the mayor that "the children's strollers are at the height of the exhaust pipe and the streets are not parking lots." Daniel from Great Bitter
also: "Not just because you throw money after saying several times that there were holes in the budget, but because you are working on a square that was perfect." Gasbarra Angela explains, sitting on a bench "survivor" with her daughter Amber. "Destroy the benches is an absurdity."
AGAINST THE BENCHES. Diego Farina but agrees with the view of those who called "sarcophagus" street furniture "They are ugly and are useless." This is echoed by Michael Zanconato: "I'm just used, or rather are used but certainly not by arzignanesi. All right, Martha is Carlotto, "A friend did maneuver the car and we ran into, resulting in 6 000 € of damage." "I work downtown and I saw very often beat cars and vans. Sometimes fighters were also issued for the record, "says Lisa Castegnaro.
Some members of the public sided with the administration, preferring to wait until the end of the work to express an opinion.
FORMER MAYOR. Of "affront to the square" and "destructive delusion" says the former mayor Stefano Fracasso. "This junta promised a smile - said the current director of minority - and took to the streets only the sadness of jackhammers. It is an administration that knows only destroy and not build. It would have been better for the money, which for months have said that there were, there were no really. There would have been spared this unnecessary madness. " Bitter
Lorella Peretti, director of opposition: "I'm sad to see the destruction of work done with passion. This is not love for the city but sterile and unnecessary protagonist. " "For the whim of a commissioner, to which the benches" suck "- Miss Gianfranco things worse - and to please some traders and some motorists are wasting public money and will go back two decades. Give priority to the pedestrian, building a livable city to human scale, not is right nor left, but a matter of common sense. "

'COSI' SI DA 'PRIORITY' TO THE CAR. " arzignanesi The protest and Roger Marzotto, project architect in Piazza Marconi, is a small satisfaction. "I have always had positive feedback and compliments for the project - says -. I still remember the opening, a place that was once a parking lot, had become a place of walking. I'm glad that people are against the removal of the benches. " Marzotto reiterates his position: "I'm sorry that has decided to amend the square, because it was conceived as a predominantly pedestrian. While this priority is given to cars. If I'll move against this decision? No, mine is a generic claim. The stones remain, the men go. " The architect makes a request: "I hope the lights are not affected. It would be a mistake and a waste. " (NI.NE.)

DO NOT TOUCH THE SQUARES ARZIGNANO: And on the benches removed now "has a" protest (from the Journal of Vicenza

AND THE DAFNE X BETWEEN

AND ELIMINATE THE BENCHES NOW "sit down" the controversy
numerous letters from citizens

Work has begun on the removal of the marble benches in the square Marconi and many citizens are protesting, by e-mail to our newspaper, regretted the administration's decision to remove the benches and protesting the "money thrown to the wind." Already three
"sarcophagus", co I had been called the Councillor for Public Works Massimo Signorini, have been destroyed, in total there are seven who will be replaced con panchine in ferro.
We put the citizen at the center. Now it seems that you want to throw away what has been done. "

DO NOT TOUCH THE SQUARES ARZIGNANO!

AND THE DAFNE X BETWEEN

Gentilin The new administration, even in times of crisis like this, when (as is often repeated several councilors) there are no funds for any project, well thought out steps to dismantle the benches of the new squares Arzignano, terminated by a little over a year. Typical of this new administration, capable ol s to destroy what has been done by others, and unable to propose, build, look ahead.
This morning began the demolition of the stone seats in the square. See the pneumatic hammer to work only at the whim of some alderman or promises to any dealer is really an infinite sadness.
Let our voices of disapproval for the dismantling of the squares by writing to the Giornale di Vicenza (red.arzignano ilgiornaledivicenza.it @) and the Mayor (sindaco@comune.arzignano. vi.it).
