SOLIDARITY 'FAILURE: House Dalli Cani, a dream unfulfilled

THE DAFNE ARZIGNANO, January 2011

When I go home from the front Dogs already furnished and renovated this summer, I think those people who have found refuge in this strange winter, rainy and very hard.
I think Paul (the names are fictional, not the human events which they relate), who sleeps in the car after the separation. I think Francis, exhausted by the search for a job that is not located and with a eviction that leaves plenty of space for dialogue and hope. I think of James Young was born and raised in Arzignano, after a past marked by drugs, is struggling to return to the social fabric, is desperate to return to normal and that for the time sleeping in Valdagno, in a house already open, part of the same project Dalli Cani. I think of Carla, who has lost everything in a game, Mohamed, who, in despair, no longer able to pay the rent.
I think of this humanity that has lost all ability to sustain itself, bonds and feelings and that it should have found this house in the snow this winter, hospitality, warmth and above all help to start over, to be returned into the work and of normality.
for this time of our valley, the doors will remain closed for Dogs House from the very moment of greatest need. This house, built according to the criteria of energy saving, which is the model building and a sign of solidarity, it opened its doors.
Why? This question, unfortunately, the Mayor and the Administration have responded, as often happens, with the usual game of accusations, innuendo and untruths that hurt Arzignano; especially outraged the strength of a project strongly supported by Caritas and Fondazione Cariverona, which has already given 1 million euro for the restoration of the building and support financially the first two years of operation (see note Foundation of September 1, 2004), and accepted with conviction administration Fracasso, everything of course thanks to the donation of the family from dogs who sold the house in 2002.
Now that everything is ready, in front of those doors closed for no reason, the shock and the bitterness remains. What is important to us beyond all is that this project finally come true. We do not want controversy, but only to see those doors open for the good of the past and the dignity of
Arzignano.
