NO MAN'S LAND

Danis Tanovic

Who was involved in the war in a unique way, has been Danis Tanovic, with his "No Man's Land. Savage fable of Bosnian Serb war, which escalated dramatically, the smile freezes ripped in the first part, until leaving the audience completely silent. Human cruelty and hypocrisy of the media and people of power, could not be described in more subtle way. The war is summed up in one simple sentence: "I have a gun and you do not!" As the language is simple and the construction of the script. You do not need great armies (ruthless accused the UN) to talk about war , no rivers of blood, just two people of opposing factions, and a song that echoes in the minds of women, without leave no escape.

Yugoslavia, or rather, the former Yugoslavia. A trench. 2 soldiers, one Bosnian and one Serb. a war that no one knows who started and no one knows when it will end. Shot with ease, and written by a very personal point of view, No Man's Land is pretty faithfully recounted in a small episode, the drama of war ethnic . comedy filled with bitter black humor (the Slavs are actually specializing thanks to their dramatic recent history) that gradually grows in pace and intensity, until a final poignant, with an image that hardly forget. further food for thought on Balkan war, though, I repeat, the point of view is very personal, this film is a fine debut, destined to become a minor classic in the landscape of film "on the" war , but not "of" war .
